We are now fully open, but with reduced capacity as we continue to do our best to comply with OSHA/CDC guidelines and Colorado Public Health orders.


We want to answer the most pertinent questions. Please read through this information if you are planning on coming to our office or had cancelled appointments.

What kind of appointments are you accepting? (updated 6/10)

-Update (as of 6/10): We are now scheduling for all types of appointments:
-adult patients for elective care (root canals, extractions, crowns, deep fillings, some dentures).
-adult preventive visits (cleaning & exam).
-treatment and checkup visits for children
-Xeomin (Botox) and Juverderm
-We will not accommodate walk-ins, treatment is by appointment only.
-Due to the scarcity of appointments and the large number of patients waiting, we cannot be as forgiving about missed appointments. If you cannot make your appoint, we need 24 hour notice. If you are unable to give us adequate notice or do not show up for your appointment, we will no longer make future appointments for you and there will be a $35 fee.

What should I expect for my visit to the office?

-You will get a phone call to make the appointment and will be screened for symptoms (either by phone or text).
-All patients and anyone accompanying them (parent/care giver) must wear a mask to their visit.
-Only one guardian or care giver will be allowed to accompany the patient into the building.
-Once you arrive, you will be asked to sign for the same screening questions and your temperature will be taken. Anyone who enters the building – whether patient, parent, or care giver will be screened as such.
-If possible, we will escort you directly to your treatment room. If not, we will ask you to wait in your car and we will call you or come let you know when we are ready for you. There will be no waiting in the waiting room.
-Once in the operatory, you will be asked to wash your hands with soap and water and then rinse your mouth with a rinse.
-Please consider avoiding cash for payment.

What are you doing to keep patients and staff safe?

In addition to the usual sterilization and universal precautions:
-We are screening for symptoms (employees and patients) to avoid having possibly contagious persons in the building.
-Employees are having their temperatures taken twice daily.
-We will avoid having people wait in the waiting room
-We've placed HEPA air filters in each room and will be having a 1 hour time gap between each patient in each treatment room to allow for any possible aerosols to be cleared.
-We've increased decontamination measures – wiping down bathrooms, pens, doorhandles, etc more frequently.
-We are going to minimize use of aerosol producing instruments
-All employees will be wearing increased PPE (surgical masks, face shields, gowns, hair coverings)
-We have installed a window at the checkout station

What if I'm in pain?

We are still taking emergency calls. If you have pain that would take you to the ER, visible swelling, or uncontrolled bleeding, please call us and we will do an initial evaluation over the phone. From there, we may call in a prescription and then we will do our best to schedule you for treatment or refer you to a specialist.

Personal Attention and Quality Care

At Cañon Family Dental, we make it a point to put our patients first and give the best quality care we are capable of. Everyone in our office is highly skilled and committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care. We love what we do, and it shows in our family-like atmosphere. With the latest in modern technology, our doctors and staff stay up-to-date with many hours of continuing education. All of our doctors are members of the American Dental Association and the Colorado Dental Association.

The Whole Family

Many times, families will feel like the kids have to go to one office while the parents go to another. Not so with us! We welcome kids as well as adults. We have a wonderful staff who are great with everyone from small children who are just getting started all the way up to adults who are looking into dentures. If you have a child, know that parents are welcome in the treatment room. We also have doctors on our staff who can accommodate children with special needs in an operating room setting at a surgery center.

A Team Effort

We take a collaborative approach when it comes to making a treatment plan for you. Instead of simply telling you what to do, we want to give you all the options you have available and form a plan that you feel comfortable with. We’ll go over the pros and cons of each approach and give you the space to decide. Whether you’re just looking for a cleaning or a whole new smile, we’ll take great care of you!

Comprehensive Care

As much as possible, we try to provide most of your treatment in our office. Our doctors can treat children as well as adults who need extractions, root canals, or dentures. And while we can’t place the implant for you, we can attach the crown or connectors on top of them for you. We also have our very own in-house denture lab with many years of experience and expertise. If we get you scheduled in advance, we can take care of minor repairs on the same day! And, of course, if you have treatment that needs the attention of a specialist, we’re happy to provide a referral to some trusted colleagues.

A Comfortable Office

Visiting the dentist can make people nervous, no matter what age. There’s no judging from our staff as we all get anxious, too! That makes all of us very understanding, compassionate, and patient. We’ll do everything we can to get you and your kids through comfortably. Some little “extras” we have in addition to our Victorian home setting are:

  • televisions above each chair to watch while receiving treatment
  • laughing gas (or nitrous oxide)
  • lots of stickers and prizes for the little ones!
